Privacy Policy
Effective 22 October 2026 · Applies to the PixelUp iPhone app and pixelup.net
PixelUp ("PixelUp", "we", "us") is an AI photo enhancer published by Snowpex. This policy explains what we collect when you use the PixelUp app for iPhone or the web app at pixelup.net, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The short version: your photos are uploaded only when you run an AI tool, they are used only to produce your result, and they are deleted afterwards.
1. What we process
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Photos you select | Only when you run Enhance, Unblur, Colorize, Remove background, Blur background or Erase objects | To produce the enhanced image you asked for |
| Mask you paint (Erase objects) | When you run Erase objects | To tell the model which area to remove |
| Email address | Web app only, when you sign in | To send your sign-in code, keep your credit balance, and let you use the same balance in the app |
| Purchase records | When you buy credits or a subscription | To grant credits and handle refunds. In the app, Apple handles payment and we receive a receipt through RevenueCat. On the web, our payment provider handles your card and we receive an order reference, never your card number. |
| Device attestation token | Every app request to our server | To make sure requests come from a genuine copy of the app and not an abuser of our AI budget. It does not identify you personally. |
| Usage analytics and crash reports | While you use the app | To see which tools are used and fix crashes |
| Advertising identifier | Only if you allow tracking in the iOS prompt and use the free app with ads | To show relevant ads from Google AdMob |
| Push token | If you allow notifications | To send notifications you opted in to |
We do not ask for your name, contacts, location or camera roll as a whole. The app only receives the single photo you pick.
2. Photos and face data
Photos you pick for an AI tool are uploaded over an encrypted connection to our server and passed to an AI image provider to generate the result. Crop, filters, the manual editor and compression run entirely on your device and never upload anything.
Your photos may contain faces. If they do, facial features are processed solely to produce the enhanced image you requested. Face data is never used to identify you, to build a profile, to train models, or to match you across apps or services. We do not create or store face templates or biometric identifiers.
3. Who processes your photos
Generation runs on AI providers acting on our instructions. They receive the photo (and mask) for the single job and are contractually limited to processing it for that job. We currently use:
- Kie.ai for Enhance, Unblur, Colorize, Remove background and Blur background.
- PicWish (Wangxu Technology) for Erase objects.
- Cloudflare for our server, storage and content delivery.
Other services we rely on: Apple (App Store purchases, App Attest), RevenueCat (subscription management), Google Firebase (analytics, crash reporting, push notifications), Google AdMob (ads in the free app), and on the web our payment provider for checkout. Each processes data under its own privacy policy.
We never sell your data, and we never share your photos with anyone other than the provider generating your result.
4. How long we keep data
- Photos and results: the app deletes the upload once the result is delivered. On the web, uploads and results are deleted automatically 24 hours after upload so you can re-download during that window. Providers delete job data on their own short schedules.
- Account and credits (web): kept while your account exists. Delete your account from the Account page or by email and it is removed within 30 days.
- Purchase records: kept as long as required for accounting and refund handling.
- Analytics: aggregated and retained per Firebase's default retention.
5. Analytics and advertising
The app uses Firebase Analytics to count tool usage and Crashlytics to report crashes. The free app shows ads from Google AdMob. Personalised ads use the advertising identifier only if you allow tracking in the iOS prompt; otherwise ads are not personalised. Subscribers see no ads. The web app uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or track you across sites.
6. Children
PixelUp is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If a photo includes a minor, you confirm you are the parent or legal guardian or have their consent.
7. International transfers and security
Our servers run on Cloudflare's global network and AI providers may process data in other countries. All transfers use encrypted connections, and providers are bound to process photos only for your job. Payment details are handled by Apple or our payment provider and never touch our servers.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email support@pixelup.net from the address linked to your account, or use Delete account on the web Account page. You can also withdraw consent for photo processing at any time by not using the AI tools; on-device editing keeps working. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA. EU and UK residents: our lawful bases are consent (photo and face processing, ads), contract (delivering the service and purchases) and legitimate interests (security, analytics, abuse prevention).
9. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the app will ask you to review it again and the web app will show a notice. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version.
