PixelUp vs Remini web
Remini is the best-known name in photo enhancement. On the web it is subscription-only. PixelUp lets you pay per run. Here is how they differ, from each company's own pages.
Side by side
Each row quotes what the two services publish about themselves. Where Remini does not publish a figure, we say so instead of guessing.
| PixelUp | Remini | |
|---|---|---|
| Free use | PixelUp12 free credits on sign-up, enough for two full runs with the HD download included. Sign-in is an email code, no password. | ReminiNo documented free quota on the web. Remini's own how-to says to create an account, start a subscription, then choose the file. |
| How you pay | PixelUpPay per run or subscribe. Credit packs from $9.99 for 400 credits (about 66 runs at 1K). Weekly $4.99, monthly $12.99, yearly $49.99. One run is 6 credits at 1K, 10 at 2K, 16 at 4K. | ReminiSubscription only: Personal or Business, each weekly, monthly or yearly, auto-renewing. Prices are shown after sign-up, so we do not quote them here. |
| Limits on paid plans | PixelUpNo photo limit; credits are spent per run and packs never expire while the account exists. | ReminiPersonal plan: 20 photos per week, 80 per month or 1,040 per year. Business plan: unlimited photos. |
| Download formats | PixelUpUp to 4K on the long edge (about 4096 pixels), as JPG or PNG, with no watermark on any download. | ReminiPersonal plan exports JPG only. Business adds PNG and TIFF. No maximum resolution is stated; custom output size is not supported. |

| Speed | PixelUpAbout 15 seconds per run at 1K, about 20 seconds at 4K. | ReminiResults appear after "a couple of minutes", per Remini's help page. |
| Web and app | PixelUpWeb and iPhone app are separate purchases; web credits are used on pixelup.net. | ReminiAlso separate: a web subscription does not unlock the mobile app, and the reverse is true. |

Choose Remini if
- You want to enhance video as well as photos.

- You want the beautify and relighting toolbar.
Choose PixelUp if
- You have a few photos, not a monthly habit, and do not want a subscription.
- You need colorize, background removal or object erase in the same place.
- You want a free, full-size preview before paying anything.
- You want PNG and 4K on every plan, including the cheapest.
Our verdict
Remini is a strong choice if you enhance videos or process photos in volume every week. For most people with a handful of photos to fix, PixelUp is cheaper, faster to start and covers more fixes on the web.
Questions people ask
Is Remini web free?
Remini's help pages describe starting a subscription before enhancing, and we found no published free quota for the web app as of 6 November 2026. PixelUp gives 12 free credits on sign-up, enough for two runs with the download included.
Does a Remini app subscription work on the web?
No. Remini states that web and mobile subscriptions are separate. PixelUp web and the PixelUp iPhone app are also separate purchases.
Which gives higher resolution?
PixelUp downloads go up to 4K. Remini does not publish a maximum output size and says custom output resolution is not supported, so we cannot compare the numbers.
Can I move my photos from Remini to PixelUp?
Just upload them. PixelUp accepts JPG, PNG, WEBP and HEIC up to 20 MB; the original is always the best input.
